Smoking may not send you to Hell, but it'll make you smell like you've been there.

Examples of Expression of Regret:

I am truly sorry for how I spoke to you. I can see that my words hurt you, even if it was not my intention.

I obviously was not thinking well at the time and, while it was not my intention to hurt you, I did. I am so sorry.

I promised you that I would do the dishes before you came home and I dropped the ball. I am sorry.

Examples of Accepting Responsibility:

How I ended things between us last night was wrong. I just went to bed without saying a word to you. That was selfish and wrong.

I realized that the words I said to you about your family were done in anger and were not appropriate. I need to learn a better way to communicate with you about things that make me angry instead of calling names.

I repeated a mistake that we have talked about before. That was wrong of me. It was my fault.

At the time, I was not aware of how my actions would affect you. Now that you shared your feelings with me and even though it was not my intention, I realize that I was in the wrong. What I did was not ok.

Learning doesn’t stop at the answers.

A rich family takes care of all its children, not just those with talents valued by the marketplace.

You don’t really start getting old until you stop learning.

It is typically better to buy a market when the news is poor and valuations are low than when all news is good and valuations are high.

All you can do is stay in the game, diversify like its your job, manage your risk, and don't fall in love with this, or any other rally like it. It's been a good one and it may still have legs, but you owe it to yourself and those who depend on you to keep your head and stay smart.

If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

Learn without thinking is indiscreet, thinking without learning is perilous. This sentence is advocated by Confucius learning methods. It refers to blindly reading without thinking, which can not profoundly understand the meaning of the book and can not reasonably and effectively use the knowledge of the book, or even fall into confusion. If you blindfolded without going to study or study in practice, after all, you are building tower on the sand, and will result nothing. Broad sense of learning is not just reading, to travel thousands of miles, or to know the world heros are also learning. However, if you travel without the combination of thinking, it may bring confusion, or you even lost in mind while you did not realize that you were lost. Similarly, thinking can only be confused rather than reawakening if thinking simply rests at the level of self-awareness and self-reflection without further understanding of higher-level mental-cognitive approaches.

All cognition is generated by subjective feelings. Men should not be persistent. As long as he persistents, he is unwise. If you recognize your true self, then all the books are irrelevant words. No matter how vast the books shown, there is only one purpose that is  to make people see their true heart more clearly. When you looking at it, you  will suddenly wake up, and do not need others to teach you anymore. The ultimate truth can not be expressed in words. Education depends on words, so it is not the ultimate truth. The ultimate truth is not what words can express at all. The truths expressed in words are not real truths.

Those who have no distinguish in their mind will not see anything different in the world,  nor will he see any different final destination,  and he also believe that all the ways to reach the final destination are equal.

The causes of all troubles, are unreal believe that distinguish things, such as: slow or fast, small or big, beauty or ugliness, kind or evil, good or bad, you or me, love or hate, sadness or happyness, and so on. The nature of everyone's heart is original clean and true, and there is no one distingushed things within the heart. If there is distinguish,  the heart is far from its own self-nature.

Wise men have no attachment upon anything met.

When the feeling of annoying  goes,  there comes wise.

First, killing. Second, theft. Third, being lewd. Four, lying. Fifth, sowing discord. Sixth, speaking crude and vicious words. Seventh, speaking dirty words. Eighth, greedy. Nine, being angry. Tenth, believing in evil. If you have these ten kinds of behavior, you will go to hell, devil or animal worlds after death.

Do not kill a creature: Do not kill humans nor beasts even an insects or any other life.
Do not steal: Do not steal other people's property.
Do not be lewd: do not have sexual relations with other people's spouse or other people's custody.
Do not lie: do not lie to others, nor empty talking, do not confuse right and wrong.
Do not sew discord: do not talk right or wrong to others.
Do not speak dirty words: do not insult others.
Do not speak vicious words: do not flattering others.
Do not be greedy: do not greedy on other people's wealth
Do not be angry: do not complain or hate other people.
Do not be stupid: do not tempt or delude others.
Have a correct believe: give generously to others, have a loving heart and value good behavior.

You should feel your own heart like this: It should not be affected by the surrounding colors, it should not be affected by ambient sounds, it should not be affected by ambient odors, it should not be affected by the ambient taste, and should not be affected by the feeling of touch around it. No outside environment should be where your heart stays.

Guanyin or Guan Yin (/ˌɡwɑːnˈjɪn/) is an East Asian bodhisattva associated with compassion and venerated by Mahayana Buddhists and followers of Chinese folk religions. Also known as the "Goddess of Mercy" in English. The Chinese name Guanyin, short for Guanshiyin, means "[The One Who] Perceives the Sounds of the World".  His  birthday:  Lunar Calendar   February 19th,  Lunar Calendar  June 19th and  Lunar Calendar  September 19th.

There was a temple in Cangzhou China, called Flower Temple. Flower Temple has a nun, surnamed Dong. Once the date was the birthday of Goddess of Mercy (Guanyin), Dong Nun preparing tribute for this purpose. When she was nearly finished,  she suddenly felt a little tired, so she fell asleep. Dong dreamed of Goddess of Mercy who said to her: "If you do not contribute tribute, I would not feel starve; even if you sacrifice tribute, I would not have the feeling of fullness. In front of your temple, there are several beggars. No one alms to give them a little food, and soon will they starve to death. If you give them to eat these tributes for me, the meritorious deeds will be ten times more than you tributing to me. "  Dong nun woke up, and opened the temple, gate just to find there were really some beggars, just as the dream has just said. In accordance with Guanyin's instruction, she helped the beggar. From then on, Dong Nun sacrificed tribute to the beggars every year after dedicating tribute to the Guanyin Bodhisattva. She said: "This is the love of Guanyin Bodhisattva."

Learn compassion of Guanyin:
There is good news that some people at the Academy had an experiment that was about a French monk. They did NMR (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and found that they were very active in the areas where his brain managed positive emotions. The conclusion was that the French monk was the happiest person in the world.

We all know that compassion is what we can do to help make all living beings happy. The other great Bodhisattvas in the scriptures can be used to give the beings, heads, minds and marrows to the beings in need. Although we can not do this, we can do something that we can do and we can accomplish our love.

This is a true story, with a pharmacist Miss in 1993; the year she met an 80-year-old woman when she was busy working in her pharmacy. The elderly have many diseases, cancer, depression, still sitting in a wheelchair, she lives in the nursing home. After hearing of the fact that her husband and her child were killed in a car accident, she felt that she had no interest in life and she became sick and depressed gradually. She just came to the pharmacy to take medicine, she saw the lady working there. The  Miss knows a little bit of the background of the elderly, she is very warm, greeted well, take medicine, push the wheelchair ah.

Shortly after Thanksgiving, the elderly gave the Miss a note saying: My doctor did not smile at me at that time. After my husband and I had gone, I had wanted to commit suicide, but happened to meet you It is your smile that gave me the motivation to live, so this Thanksgiving I will send you this card, thank you for saving my life. From this story we know that our smile has a very great power, and can even save lives. So we smile at people, but also a manifestation of compassion, can help others.

A mother asked her daughter to buy something. Her daughter did not come back for a long time. When her daughter came back, the mother asked :" why do you come back so late"?  The daughter said to her mother: "Sorry, Mom, on the way home, I met the little girl in our neighbor's home and her doll was smashed accidentally, and she cried over there." Mom asks "Did you help her repairing her doll?" Said the daughter, "No, I just cryed with her together." So although her daughter did not do anything big, she helped her neighbour girl with a kind compassion and ultimately reduced the distress of the little neighbour girl.

There was a young boy.  He heard his neighbour's elder lady cried very sadly over the pass away of her husband. The boy just ran over to the lady, and cried over her thigh for a while, and then went back home. After returning home, his mother asked: "Did you say anything to comfort the elderly?" The boy said, "I did not do anything, I just lay there on her lap and cried with her."

Compassion is to give people happiness. When you bring happiness to others, this happiness will not disappear, it will run back and make ourselves happy, just like the French monk I was experimenting with, and we could become the world The happiest person The purpose of our practice is to get happiness from it.

The happiest person in the world practices mercy. Mercy includes altruism, love and compassion.

One day, an angel brought a man to visit hell and heaven. When he visited Hell, he saw many, many foods in Hell, but none were eaten by people. The reason is that each arm is tied to a long, long spoon, the spoon is too long to take food at all. So hell people are very painful, starving but could not eat. Then the angel took him to paradise. There he found that the environment is the same, but people in paradise are very happy. They were using the long spoon, feeding each other food; they help each other, everyone is having a good time.

He does not understand why the same situation, so painful in hell, but very happy in heaven. The angel said Heaven's people knew how to help others; but hell's people would only think of their own interests and would not think of helping others. So hell and paradise, is always the same, but the difference lies in people's mind. Amitabha!

So what advice does Buffett have to survive a market downturn?

"This table offers the strongest argument I can muster against ever using borrowed money to own stocks," Buffett wrote.

"There is simply no telling how far stocks can fall in a short period. Even if your borrowings are small and your positions aren't immediately threatened by the plunging market, your mind may well become rattled by scary headlines and breathless commentary. And an unsettled mind will not make good decisions."

Buffett concluded the big drops are great opportunities for those who are not loaded to the gills in debt. He ended the passage with these lines from Rudyard Kipling's 19th century poem, "If:"

"If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs .. . If you can wait and not be tired by waiting . . . If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim . . . If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you… Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it."

Learn seven things

The first is to learn admits

People often refuse to admit mistakes, everything is said to be the fault of others, and thinking themselves are right, in fact, does not recognize the mistake is a mistake.

The object of admits your mistacke can be parents, friends, the public, God, and even to the children or whom do bad things to you. When you admit you make mistakes, you will lost nothing, but it will make you seems you great.

Learning to admit mistakes is wonderful, is an overhaul.

Second is to learn to be soft.

People's teeth are hard, the tongue is soft, to the end of life, the teeth are gone, the tongue will not fall, so be soft, life can be long-term, hard instead suffer.

Soft-hearted, is the biggest improvement in practice. Generally described as persistent man, your heart, your character is cold, hard, like steel. If we like the Zen Buddhism to say that we do self-adjustment, slowly change our heart which previously like a wild horse, like the monkey's heart, and make it soft, then our life can live happier, longer.

Third is to learn forbearance.

This world is to put one's breath, calm, take a step back to a brighter future; forbearance, everything can be eliminated. Forbearance will handle, will resolve. With wisdom, we will have the ability to make big issue become little,  and make little issue become nothing.

To live, to survive, to have life, to have tolerance, you can recognize the world's good and evil, right and wrong, and even accept it.

Fourth is to learn to communicate

Lack of communication will produce right and wrong, disputes and misunderstanding.

The most important thing is communication, mutual understanding and mutual assistance. All of us are brothers and sisters. If we do not communicate, how can we make peace?

Fifth is to study put down

Life like a suitcase, when needed we lift it.  We should put it down when it is not in use. In the circumstance that we should put it down, we do not put it down, it will be like dragging a heavy luggage, and we can not be comfortable. Time of life is limited, admitting, respecting, tolerance can be acceptable, let it be comfortable!

Sixth is to learn to be moved

To see the benefits of others, to be happy; see good deeds, to be touched.

Touching is a kind of love. In a few decades of our life, there are many things make us being touched, through good things or language. Therefore, we should also work hard to find ways to make others feel touched.

Seventh is to learn to survive

In order to survive, to maintain good health, good health not only beneficial to themselves, but also to friends, family reassurance, it is also filial piety behavior.

Remember to ask yourself before going to bed every night: Did I lose my temper today? Sometimes temper is inevitable, but if you often get angry immediately, it can only say that you did not learn the truth of life.

Buffett likes to buy companies cheaper than they are.

— There are three ways to go broke: 'liquor, ladies and leverage'
— Stocks vs bonds, 'I would choose equities in a minute'

It is typically better to buy a market when the news is poor and valuations are low than when all news is good and valuations are high.

In fact, people around you know a long time ago.

There is a episode in "The Two Towers,"  second in the film Lord of the Rings: Frodo dialogue with Gandalf. Frodo at the time thought Gollum was deceived by the desire and has become a thoroughly sinful person without excuse. But Gandalf told him that there is something in the world called hope and anyone has equality to a hope. Someone like Gollum must, in some ways, certainly deserve everyone's best hope for him. Later, Frodo sympathetic Gollum, and lifted the elf rope grunt on Gollum's  neck. Gollum was moved and struggled in his mind as Sméagol, and finally acted as a guide for them, leading them to Mordor entrance the Black Gate. The significance of this episode lies in the fact that true love is always full of hope for another soul, never giving up such hope, while never imposing it upon others. And the basis of this is to believe in others, that anyone has the same purity heart, which is equal, and is no difference with others. Said by the Buddha: All living creatures has a purity heart within themselves...the purity heart, which lies in Buddha's heart, has no difference with the ones, which lie in the evil gathered living creatures' hearts. It is bright and clear. It is away from the outside dust and worries, because the dust and worries are acturally guests to the purity heart only.
