Cheng Hao, a Confucian Confucian in Henan of the Northern Song Dynasty, with the word Bochun, was called Mr. Ming Dao by scholars. When he was young, he liked hunting. Later, when he saw Mr. Zhou Dunyi (word Lianxi), he immediately vowed to stop hunting and said that he was no longer interested in it. Mr. Lianxi said, "Don't say it so lightly. It's just that this kind of murderous intention has been hidden for the time being. One day this intention will germinate, and it will be the same as before." After twelve years, Cheng Hao accidentally encountered Others were hunting, and he really felt happy again. At this time, he believed that Mr. Lianxi's words were true. [Commentary] Abstaining from killing and releasing life is an extremely easy task to do good and get rid of evil. Stopping hunting is the most superficial thing in refraining from killing and releasing animals. With the virtuousness of Mr. Ming Dao, and after twelve years of moral education, the murderous intention in his heart has not been extinguished. It can be seen from this that it is natural for those eminent monks who are strict and disciplined to be revered by the gods. Later, Mr. Ming Dao was appointed as the head officer of Shangyuan County, Nanjing. When he saw that people in the countryside used glue to fetch birds, he sent someone to break all the glue rods and ordered a ban on catching birds. At this time, his murderous intentions have been completely cut off. It can be seen that it is not easy to be able to reflect on the good and evil of the heart at all times. It is not only ten years of reading to get rid of contempt, and ten years of reading to get rid of the pursuit of fame and fortune.

Bhikkhu Daerjia built a house with beautiful red tiles.  After Buddha Shakyamuni saw this house, he already knew the inside information (Buddha can know everything, but he always asks even though he knows everything), he still deliberately asked Ananda: "What is this?" Ananda  He replied, "This is the son of a potter, who became a Bhikkhu. His name is Daerjia. He built a small grass house before, but it was destroyed by the cattle herders. He built grass house three times,  and the house was destroyed three times by cattle herders. So this time he made a red tile house." The Buddha said to Ananda, "Go and demolish this tile house." Why?  When non-Buddhists see such a beautiful Bhikkhu's house, they will say that when the Buddha was in the world, there was such a flawed teaching that was greedy for material desires.  This is contrary to Buddhist teachings.  - "Commentary on the Great Perfection of Wisdom"

The hearts of all sages are not attached, not greedy for the body, not greedy for longevity, not averse to death, not happy because of living.  - "Commentary on the Great Perfection of Wisdom"

Wen Shaozu's family in Fuqing, Fujian had a son. The Wen family discussed with the Chai family, and the son of the Wen family and the daughter of the Chai family were preparing to marry. Immediately, the two exchanged dowry gifts and got engaged. Unexpectedly, the daughter of the Chai family suddenly became mad. Wen Shaozu wanted to break off the marriage because the daughter of the Chai family was mad. Wen Shaozu's wife was furious and said to her husband: "I have a son. I should make him follow the laws of nature, and the blessings will last for a long time. If you disobey the righteousness, you will inevitably bring disaster." Therefore, the Wen family still married the daughter of the Chai family. In the second year, the son of the Wen family passed the imperial examinations, and Chai's daughter was cured. Later they gave birth to three sons, all of whom were dignitaries. [Note] Since ancient times, most of the people who married blind and sick women were rich and noble. For no other reason, but because the man was kind. If you can tolerate one person for the sake of God, God will naturally treat you favorably.

During the Warring States Period, when the Seven Heroes swarmed up, they all used their wits to compete with each other, determined the outcome by force, and acted completely by ingenuity and deceit. The villain read "Warring States Policy" and was amazed at the table, thinking that there were endless clever ideas. When the gentleman saw it, he could only sigh with emotion, feeling that they were too pitiful! For example, poisonous wine can temporarily quench thirst, but its poison can cause death. In the Qing Dynasty, Mr. Lu Jiashu from Pinghu, Zhejiang Province, in the compilation of "Warring States Policy", deleted all the greed and fraudulent matters of those lobbyists, and only kept dozens of essential articles, titled "Warring States Policy to Remove Toxins" ". It can be said that he has a good eye for reading and is not deceived by the ancients. [Note] Knowing that "Warring States Policy" is poisonous, it can be seen that the books after the Qin and Han Dynasties are inevitably poisonous, but the poison is different. The key lies in the careful examination of people with knowledge. Just like Mr. Lu's own writings, although there are many clarifications, it is inevitable to stick to the rules and agree with the common opinions. Therefore, when I read Mr. Lu's book, I adopted the method of Mr. Lu's reading "Warring States". This is not to slander Mr. Lu easily. Books are public things in the world from ancient times to the present. Morality is inherent in our nature. It is precisely because we respect Mr. Lu that we dare not overly compliment Mr. Lu and obey Mr. Lu.

Uttarakuru, the place name, translates as "Blessed Land". The fixed life expectancy of the people there is one thousand years, without suffering, and always enjoying happiness. So no one wants to become a monk, no one wants to keep the precepts. Because there is no suffering and there is a lot of enjoyment among the heavenly beings, there are no people who want to become a monk and learn Buddhism. The Saha world we live in has few reasons for happiness. There are three evil realms, such as animals, hungry ghosts, and hell. There are old age, sickness, and death. The land needs to be cultivated to grow food. When you see the coming of old age, sickness, and death, your mind will get bored; when you see a poor person, you know that it is caused by the karma of his previous life, and your mind will get tired of the world. For these reasons, it is easy to produce the pursuit and learning of wisdom. Just like a person who works hard when he is a child, he will only have talent when he grows up and can achieve a career. - "Commentary on the Great Perfection of Wisdom"

One hundred years after Buddha Shakyamuni entered Nirvana, there was a monk named Upagupta. He practiced as an Arahant and had six supernatural powers. At that time there was a bhikkhuni who was 120 years old and had seen Shakyamuni Buddha when she was young. Upagupta wanted to visit this bhikkhuni and ask her about the specific situation of some things when the Buddha was alive. Upagupta sent his disciples to visit the bhikkhuni in advance, telling her that he would come to visit in person immediately. Before Upagupta came, the bhikkhuni put a bowl full of sesame oil under the door. Upagupta came to the door and slowly opened the door, but still spilled a small part of the sesame oil. After Upagupta sat down, he asked the bhikkhuni for advice: "Can you please tell me about the appearance of the Buddha?" The bhikkhuni said, "I was young at that time. The Buddha came to our village, and everyone said that the Buddha came, so I came out with everyone and prayed when I saw the light, but the golden hairpin on my head fell to the ground, and it fell to the ground in the dark forest, but at that time the light of the Buddha shone on us, even the secluded places were bright with light, I found the golden hairpin immediately. Since then, I have become a bhikkhuni." Upagupta asked again, "When the Buddha was there, how were the dignities and rituals of the monks?" The bhikkhuni said, "When the Buddha was alive, there were six monks who had the least sense of shame, but their dignities and rituals were still better than yours. How can I know? Because when they enter this door, the sesame oil will not be spilled from the bowl. Although their behavior is not good enough, they still do not lose their etiquette when walking, standing, sitting, and lying down. Although you have six supernatural powers and become a Arahant, but still not as polite as them." Upagupt felt very ashamed after hearing this. So, be respect and be cautious. One-hearted to be respect and cautious is good-natured. - "Commentary on the Great Perfection of Wisdom"
