Tai Shang Lao Jun talks about cause and effect
Tai Shang Lao Jun said: "There is no certain way for misfortune and good fortune, they are all inspired by people themselves." The retribution of good and evil is like a shadow following a body, and it will never be separated.
Therefore, there are gods in heaven and earth who are in charge of human sins, according to the severity of people's crimes, to reduce their lifespan. After the lifespan is reduced, people will become poor and broken, often encounter sorrows and disasters, everyone hates him, punishments and disasters will follow, auspicious and happy events will avoid him, evil and evil stars will also bring disasters to him. he. Once the lifespan is reduced, people will die.
There are also the gods of Santai and Big Dipper, who often record the sins committed by people on people's heads, and take away his life according to the severity of the sins committed. There are also three corpse gods on people's bodies. Whenever it comes to Gengshen Day, they will ascend to heaven and report people's sins. On the last day of the lunar month, the Kitchen God does the same thing.
Anyone who commits a crime will lose their life expectancy. Twelve years of life are deprived of the greater sin, and one hundred days of the lesser sin. There are hundreds of these evils, big and small, and those who want to live long must avoid them first.
What makes sense must move forward, and what doesn't make sense has to be avoided. Don't take the path of evil, don't deceive people in the dark. You should accumulate virtue and make progressive achievements. Extend compassion to all things. Be loyal to your elders and be filial to your parents. The elder brother loves the younger brother, the younger brother respects the elder brother. Correct yourself and persuade others. Pity the lonely, give aid to the widowed, respect the old, and care for the young. Don't hurt even insects and plants. You should have pity on the misfortunes that others have caused by doing evil, and praise others for the blessings they get from doing good. Help others in urgent and difficult matters, and help others in their difficulties. Seeing others gain is as happy as your own gain; seeing others lose is as sad as your own loss. Don't show off the weaknesses of others, don't show off your strengths. Stop evil deeds and praise good deeds. Give more to others and take less of yourself. No resentment even when insulted. Surprised and overwhelmed even by being overly fond of treatment. Giving kindness without asking for anything in return; after giving it to others, there is no need to retroactively regret it.
The good man mentioned here is respected by everyone, God will bless him, good fortune officials will follow him, all evil will stay away from him, good gods will also protect him, what he does will surely be successful, and hope to reach the gods realm is also possible. Those who want to become immortals in the sky should accumulate 1,300 good deeds; those who want to become immortals on earth should accumulate 300 good deeds.

If a good thought arises in his heart, although the good deed has not been done, the good deity has already followed him; if an evil thought arises in his heart, although the evil deed has not been done, the evil deity has already followed him. Some people have done bad deeds, and later they repented, and they stopped doing all kinds of bad deeds, and pursued all good deeds. Over time, they will definitely get auspicious and festive. This is the so-called turning misfortune into a blessing.
Therefore, an auspicious person speaks goodness, sees goodness, and does goodness. If he does three good deeds in a day, if he accumulates three years, the heaven will surely give him a blessing. A vicious person speaks evil, sees evil, and acts evil. If he does three evil deeds in one day, and after three years of accumulation, heaven will surely bring disaster to him. Why not diligently do good things and get rid of evil?
