Zhou Hu, a servant of the Zhou family in Xianxian County, Hebei Province, was fascinated by a fox. He and the fox loved each other more than a happy couple in the world. They lived together for more than 20 years. The fox once said to Zhou Hu: “I have cultivated human form for more than 400 years. I still had a relationship with you in the previous life, so I should make up for it. According to God's will, if one day's dissatisfaction, one will not be able to ascend to heaven one day earlier. Once the fate is over, I will leave. “ One day, she had a very happy look on her face, and suddenly burst into tears, showing a very sad look. She said to Zhou Hu: “On the nineteenth day of this month, our fate is over and we will leave you. I have found a spouse for you, you can send a gift to seal the marriage.” So she took out the platinum and gave it to Zhou Hu for the dowry gift. Since then, she and Zhou Hu have been lingering and intimate, becoming more loving, and often inseparable. On the morning of the 15th, she hurriedly bid farewell to Zhou Hu. Zhou Hu blamed her for leaving early. The fox said with tears: “The so-called fate cannot be reduced or increased by a day, but it can be arranged by oneself sooner or later. I want to leave a three-day fate in the world so that I can meet you again in the future. “ After a few years, the fox really came to meet Zhou Hu again, and left after three days of happy reunion. Before leaving, she cried and said: “From then on, we broke up forever. “ Mr. Chen Yinde said that this fox is good at leaving room, and so should people who cherish their own happiness. Liu Jizhen said, since the fox and Zhou Hu will part ways after three days, why should they stay for another three days? This fox has been training for four hundred years, and it has not yet reached the point of giving up on the cliff. That's not how things should be handled. I think what these two people said, both illustrate the same truth, and each has its own truth. - Ji Xiaolan

The "Saṃyukta Āgama" says that people are like the moon: Some people are good at learning Buddhism and learning a lot, giving and keeping the precepts, but then they retreat, forget about keeping the precepts, forget about giving, and have no right views, just like the full moon becomes a crescent. Some people, after hearing the Dharma, persist in keeping the precepts, keep giving, keep learning, increase in wisdom, and do good deeds in body, speech, and mind, just like a crescent moon becomes a full moon, bright and pure.

In the "Saṃyukta Āgama", the Buddha praised filial piety many times, and rebuked those who were not filial to their parents as "human face Rakshasa heart". In the "Saṃyukta Āgama Volume 4.88 Sutra", the Buddha praised a young Brahman who begged for food to support his parents: "People who respect and support their parents like you have a good reputation in this life. Reincarnated in the heavens." After the Buddha became enlightened, he also ascended to the Trayastriṃśa Heavenly Palace and taught the Dharma for his mother, Queen Māyā of Shakya, for three months. The great kindness of the Buddha, even benefiting all tiny insects, how could he be merciless to his biological parents? If you want to make sentient beings enlightened, if you want to practice compassion, parents should be the best objects.
